Easy entertainment..

Ok.. so remember when we were young and we could play outside all day with a stick and a bucket and mom couldn't beg us to come inside!?!? Well today I saw the glimmer of that easily entertained child in my 3 youngest.

My lil man who happens to be only 8 1/2 months old pretty much is interested in anything. I could hand him a spoon or a blankie and he will just stick it in his mouth and drool. The 2 middle children not so much. Seems they wanna fight or piss and moan about one thing or another and it takes me about 20 min to get them settled into an activity.

So tonight upon attempting for the 6th time to edit some photos I keep getting taken away from I decided it was an easy entertainment sorta night. Pulling at the last threads I had before throwing the kids in front of the TV I put an egg carton, some markers, and a pair of scissors on the table and told the girls to go crazy. You would have thought it was the coolest thing EVER!

Lil man was cranky too... so an old formula can took care of that! He beat on that sucker like a drum until he passed out.

I was super excited tonight to see that they still have that sweet innocence... Where the newest most expensive toy isn't the most important! That the simple things sometimes can be the best. Made me smile.

Oh and about that editing.... well it didn't happen. I was having too much fun watching them make our family in egg shapes!

Happy 2013!!!

YAY!! 2012 is officially gone and 2013 is smack dab in our laps now.    .............

So now what!?!?!

Well, everyone this time of year gets super excited to make resolutions. "I'm going to lose weight" or "I'm going to quit smoking" or "I'm going to make a million dollars this year". Most of our resolutions are vague and just superficial. A way for us to believe in our minds that things will be better this year. And lets face it, most people by August are looking at their wastelines and their pack of smokes and their bank acccounts and thinking "Oh crap".

So rather than set some stupid goal that I know deep down inside I really don't care if I reach or not (because lets face it I'm 30 and have 5 kids, there is NO way I am going to squeeze my ass in a size 5 again!) I have decided to in 2013 live in my everyday moments! And not only that, but I plan to capture those with my camera!

In 2012 between starting my photography business, juggling being a stay at home mom of 5, having a baby under a year old screaming his ass off 24/7, attending football practices and putting on the good ol' football coaches wife smile, shopping for groceries, cleaning up boogers and puke, doing homework with my 5th grade daughter for hours and hours, being the loving wife and giving my man some attention, keeping the house liveable, cheufering kids from practice to school to home to practice to home to school to parties (anyone with kids under 16 knows exactly what I am talking about), and somehow putting a healthy dinner on the table in the midst of all the above, I have lost actually enjoying all the little moments!!!

So being that I am photog I decided daily I am going to carry my camera with me. I'm going to take those photos of all the little things I enjoyed through the day that normally I and my family take advantage of.

I hope you find some insipration in my posts... and maybe they make you laugh... or maybe you just scroll thru to see what the pic of the day is.. but most of all I hope it inspires you to take that moment and capture it yourself. If not with a camera with your heart! <3

Cheers to 2013!

Here's the first toast of the year... Some apple cider at midnight with my baby girls!
